LaGuardia Airport is the third busiest of the New York Metro Airports trailing both JFK International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport. The airport handles domestic flights for more than 20 airlines and is the closest airport to Manhattan. It consists of 4 passenger terminals, Terminal A – Marine Air Terminal, Terminal B – Central Terminal Building, Terminal C – US Airways Terminal, and Terminal D – Delta Terminal. To get around LaGuardia Airport, there are free shuttles that access short term parking, long term parking, and the terminals. LGA – LaGuardia Airport Ground Transportation
LaGuardia is located in Queens about 4 miles from Manhattan. Ground transportation includes public buses, taxi, car rental, car and van services. Unfortunately, LaGuardia Airport is not directly connected to the extensive of Subway, Commuter Rail and Amtrak trains that service New York City and the surrounding metro area. There is public bus service available at the airport for Manhattan and Queens that stop at various subway stations.
Also, there is the NYC Airporter, which departs every 30 minutes from the LaGuardia Airport Bus Terminal and goes directly to Grand Central Station. From Grand Central, there is direct access to the Metro North Commuter trains and Subway Lines.
